I’m Gian — a software engineer in Manila who likes building whole things.
Most of my work lives in the same place: a messy process, a pile of spreadsheets, or an idea someone hasn’t been able to turn real yet. I build the software that fixes it — usually a portal, an internal tool, or a data-driven app — and I take it the whole way, from the data layer to the interface to the shipped app on web and mobile.
For almost four years I’ve been the lead — and only — engineer on the product at Tex Inc, which taught me to own everything, not just the front end. A lot of what I build now leans on automation: scrapers and pipelines that keep data fresh on their own, so the software keeps working without anyone babysitting it.
The project I’m proudest of is Anomura, a free app that shows Filipinos the real prices of everyday essentials, updated automatically every day. It started as a side project and ended up on local radio — proof to me that a small, useful thing built well can reach real people.
Outside of building, I’m into riding and the ocean. I work fast, ship often, and care more about whether a thing is finished and used than whether it’s clever.
If you’ve got a portal, internal tool, or product idea that needs to become real software — get in touch.
